About
Women Pastors is a site dedicated to sharing the stories of women who left the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). Some were compelled to leave in order to follow the call into ordained ministry or to teach in other denominations and others left because of the Missouri Synod’s unjust stance on the role of women in church.
Women who speak out against the LCMS policy of excluding the service of women who are gifted by God for ordained and teaching ministries in our church are marginalized and ignored. Women who moved on to denominations where they and their gifts were welcomed have been unrecognized and to a large extent, forgotten. It is for the purpose of honoring these women and listening to their stories that this site has been created. Some of the women have requested that their real names not be used and this we are also honoring.
If you’re willing to share your story or have ideas for articles, please contact us through the “Share Your Story” page.
